Hi, I’m Emy!

I’ve been creating art for as long as I can remember. I used to love making art with ballpoint pens and highlighters. A giant box of crayons was always my favorite gift to receive.

These days, I love exploring different mediums. Watercolor is my current favorite, but I love painting with gouache, acrylics, inks, and digital.

When I’m not making art, I’m working on my blogs—yes, plural—because I’m crazy, apparently. Semigloss Design is my home DIY and craft blog, Ebb and Flow Creative Co is my art tutorial blog, and Have a Crafty Day is my Cricut project blog.

I live in Florida with my husband, son, and dog. My other son lives out of state. We live in a historic house in a small town.

On weekends, we love exploring beaches and other small towns. I love antiquing and thrifting because old stuff makes me happy.

All of these things inspire my art. I find myself painting a lot of Florida animals and landscapes. I’m currently obsessed with painting alligators.
