Vintage Booth Display
In 2018, I had a vintage booth in a local boutique. We were open once a month and required to refresh our booth each month.
Sometimes, we were given a theme to work around, and sometimes, I made one up. I spent a lot of time researching retail displays to improve my booth.
Working in the surroundings (a rustic barn) with a limited budget, primarily using vintage items, required a lot of creative problem-solving. I built some displays, including tables and display boards for jewelry.
I used my educational background in social work (with a heavy emphasis on psychology) to create displays that appealed to the senses.
Here are some of my favorite displays.

I was also required to photograph the furniture pieces, so I learned how to make interesting vignettes that didn’t steal the focus from the furniture. Exploring new paint techniques was one of my favorite things to experiment with.

Interior Design and DIY
I started my website, Semigloss Design, in late 2015 to document my DIY projects in my house. Here are some of my favorite projects that show my style, which I would characterize as colorful and playful.

Building Projects
These are some projects I have designed and built for personal use.

Art
In my spare time, I spend every moment I can in my art studio. I love watercolor, gouache, acrylic paint, mixed media, collage, and craftier pursuits such as paper mache, quilting, and embroidery.
I also enjoy digital art (Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.) Adobe Illustrator allows me to design projects to cut with a Cricut or laser cutter.
I have another blog, Ebb and Flow Creative Co, where I teach painting with watercolors and drawing using the iPad app Procreate.
